My parents, sister, and I became members of Edison Park Lutheran Church in 1957 when we moved from the Austin area of Chicago. After graduating from Taft, I spent a year at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. I pursued a career in advertising. I lived in many places such as Montana, The UK, and Birmingham, Alabama where Mom, Dad and my sister and her family resided . I began a career in travel. I returned to the Chicago area in 1992, with my parents and continued in the meeting planning and incentive travel business. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico.
I joined the staff of EPLC at the beginning of June, 2004 as Parish Assistant. I enjoy working with the staff preparing the weekly bulletins and handling other office duties.

Having been a member of EPLC my whole life, this church has been my “second home.” I’m blessed to have been reared in a loving Christian home, where faith and church life were high priorities. My parents, brothers, and I were active in our church in many capacities. I’m grateful to be able to serve the congregation where I attended Sunday School, Bible School, Confirmation, and Luther League. In my teenage and college years, I was very active in our church youth group. It was during these years that I really experienced and tasted what a personal relationship with God was, and as I got older, I began teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In my adult years, I served in various leadership roles, including Council President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Assisting Minister. I’ve done lay ministry on a volunteer basis for many years, and especially enjoy visiting the sick and homebound.
I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Education from North Park University, and an M.B.A. in Management from Loyola University. In 2003, I completed the Diakonia program, an intensive two-year process of spiritual formation and theological education, covering the classic seminary disciplines of practical, systematic, historical and Biblical theology.
God blessed me with a successful 30-year career in corporate management positions, in the areas of Customer Service and Operations Management. However, for the past several years, I sensed God calling me to full time ministry. In my role as Parish Deacon, I assist with all worship services, visit and bring Holy Communion to those who are hospitalized, in nursing homes, or homebound, manage the Prayer Chain, and assist with Confirmation classes and Senior Worship services. I also work with the Outreach Committee on various activities including the annual Pet Blessing and Ice Cream Social, as well as efforts to welcome new members to our congregation.
If you are looking for a place to learn about God’s abundant love and grace, I invite you to come and worship with us. Our lives are filled with such uncertainty - but one thing we can count on is the promise that nothing will ever separate us from God’s love. God says, “Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest.” If you have any questions about EPLC, or if we can be of any help to you, please feel free to call us. Blessings to you.

For the past few years he has served as the Worship and Music Director at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Forest Lake, MN, has organized benefit concerts for Relay for Life, Youth Performing arts musicals, and served as the musical director for Masquers Community Theatre.
